2016-2017 was for Elizabeth Blancke-Biggs a year of international debuts, beginning with her Canadian debut as Strauss’ Elektra at the Edmondton Opera. She then appeared in the critically acclaimed and sold out opening season production of Bellini’s Norma at the Teatro Municipal of Rio de Janeiro. She continued as Turandot for the gala opening of the new Opera House in Xian, China.

The 2015 -16 season was for Elizabeth Blancke-Biggs truly “The Year of the Princesses”; she portrayed Strauss’ Salome in a staged concert performance at Mexico City’s Palacio de Bellas Artes with the Orquesta Sinfonica Nacional under Mo. Carlos Miguel Prieto. She then moved on to a triumphant role debut as Puccini’s Turandot at Der Norske Opera in Andreas Homoki’s production conducted by Mo. John Fiore. Her year ended with an award winning house and role debut as Strauss’ Elektra at Bologna’s Teatro Comunale about which one critic wrote

'Elektra could be defined as a "one woman show", and Elizabeth Blancke-Biggs truly succeeds in drawing the spectator to her with a charisma that makes one want her monologues and scenes to never end. Her interpretation is breath-takingly fascinating, based on a declamation and use of text that would make a Shakespearian actor jealous.'
